About us

Our house, built in 1869, is located directly on the Kulturufer (Hindenburgpark) on the edge of downtown Bingen and features four modern apartments ranging from 55 to 120 square meters.

We purchased it in 2019 and immediately undertook a comprehensive renovation and modernization, so that today only the staircase and the exposed wooden beams serve as reminders of the old property. We replaced the old windows with high-quality soundproof windows, insulated the facade, and installed individually controlled air conditioning units in the living areas. We have given each apartment its own unique character, and all four are fully equipped so that you will want for nothing during your stay.

If you still feel something is missing, please don’t hesitate to contact us; we’ll do our best to find a solution.

We’d like to give you a brief overview of all four apartments and have listed the amenities available in each:

  • Bedroom with a box spring bed (160/180 x 200 cm) and a TV (waipuTV (approx. 250 channels), Amazon Prime Video)
  • High-quality built-in kitchens with induction stove, oven, refrigerator with freezer compartment, dishwasher, fully automatic coffee machine, kettle, toaster, pots, pans, baking dish, strainers, assortment of kitchen utensils (spatula, whisk, vegetable peeler, etc.), cutlery, dishes, glasses, kitchen grater, scale, measuring cups
  • Additionally, the kitchen is stocked with vinegar, oil, salt, pepper, various types of tea, coffee beans (enough for at least 3 days), coffee creamer, sugar, sweetener, dish soap, dishwasher tablets, dish sponge, dishcloth, dish towels, paper towels, plastic wrap, parchment paper, aluminum foil
  • Large bathroom (approx. 8 sqm) with a large sink, shower and/or bathtub, towels, hair dryer, toilet paper, and small toiletries
  • Living room with a large couch, table, and large TV (waipuTV (approx. 250 channels), Amazon Prime Video, Netflix (only with your own account)
  • High-speed Wi-Fi (100 Mbps)
  • Terrace, balcony, or loggia (ground floor: small terrace; 1st floor: large terrace; 2nd floor: very small balcony; 3rd floor: small loggia)
  • Views of the Rhine, as well as the Niederwald Monument and the Rheingau with its vineyards, can be enjoyed from the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors (less so in summer, as there is a large plane tree in front of the house); unfortunately, there is no view of the Rhine from the ground floor

Of course, all four apartments are described in more detail on our website. If you have any questions or concerns, please give us a call or send us a message!

Excursions and Activities

Bingen am Rhein offers more than just fine wine; here you can set out on various excursions on foot, by bike, or by car. Here is a small selection from us:

On foot:

“Museum am Strom”: Special exhibition on Hildegard von Bingen, the Romantic Rhine, Bingen’s city history from the Romans to the present day, and, as a special highlight, the 67-piece Bingen medical instrument set from the 2nd century AD (the largest find of its kind in the world)

A walk along the banks of the Rhine through Hindenburg Park and the park at the Mäuseturm; along the way, three restaurants invite you to stop and enjoy a meal right by the river.

Walk to Klopp Castle, from where you have a magnificent view of the “Binger Loch”

Walk up to Rochusberg (also accessible by bus or car): various marked hiking trails, great views, visit to the Bingen Rochus Chapel, stop at the Hildegard Forum, climb the Kaiser-Friedrich Tower, fitness trail, and playground

Stroll through downtown

Tour of the basilica

Boat trip: The boat dock is just 150 meters from our house; from here, you can set off on various themed cruises (castle cruise, Loreley cruise, etc.). We highly recommend the so-called “Ringtour” (take the boat from Bingen to Assmannshausen, ride the chairlift up the mountain, enjoy a leisurely one-hour walk to the Niederwald Monument, take the gondola to Rüdesheim, and after a short stroll through town, return to Bingen by boat or ferry)

By car:

Tour of Rheinstein Castle

Binger Wald: Hiking trails of varying difficulty levels, a forest discovery trail for children; we highly recommend the Steckenschläferklamm, where many funny tree faces are waiting to be discovered

By car or train:

Trip to Koblenz: Walk to the Deutsches Eck and tour of Ehrenbreitstein Fortress

Trip to Mainz: Tour of the cathedral, shopping in the city center, Natural History Museum, Gutenberg Museum, Museum of Ancient Seafaring

Trip to Bad Kreuznach: Walk through the spa gardens or along the Nahe River, shopping in the city center, panoramic hiking trail, tour of the Roman Museum and the Puppet Theater Culture Museum (featuring many puppets from the Augsburger Puppenkiste)
